Brno, Jun 9 (BD) – Fireworks, concerts, arts, seafood, picnics and two different universities celebrating their 100th birthdays! Don’t you dare spend this weekend inside, get out there and make the most of Brno!
On Tuesday, let Monet’s art enchant you again, this time in a new format. At 8:30pm you can see the movie “Water Lilies of Monet – The Magic of Water and Light” at Kino Scala, screened in English with Czech subtitles. Tickets start from CZK 180, and can be reserved on the cinema’s website.
We covered it last year, and this week the Emil Open – European games for disabled young people is back in Brno. From Wednesday to Saturday you can see sports from a new perspective. Find more information and the program on the official website.
After the great success of the first three firework displays of the IGNIS Brunensis fireworks festival, there are still two more to come! The next will be at Brno Dam at 22:30 on Wednesday, and the final display at the same time on Saturday night above Špilberk castle. Did you know that Masaryk University is the oldest university in Brno by just a few months? On the same evening, Mendel University is also celebrating its 100th anniversary with a music festival! We can’t really help you with that, but for a couple of days you can get a taste of the sea at the 10th edition of the “Slavnosti Moře” fish and seafood festival! Still feeling like taking to the treacherous seas? Just follow your dreams and take your family with you to the Expat Center’s Family Canoe Afternoon. From 2 PM to 6 PM an instructor will accompany you and teach you how to sail the perilous waters of Brno’s River Svratka. Tickets cost CZK 120 for adults and CZK 80 for children, and you can book them on the official website.
It’s almost summer: is your wardrobe ready for it? The Mint Fashion Market is back in town on Saturday! From 11 AM to 8 PM browse through handmade dresses, second-hand clothes, jewellery and more! If you read our article “Special Concert by the Brno Philharmonic and “Young Mozarts” in Bobycentrum”, you know that the “Young Mozarts” or “Mozart’s Children” festival is coming to Brno for its 10th edition. On June 16, the Brno Philharmonic Orchestra and the “Young Mozarts” will perform Musorgskij´s popular Pictures from the exhibition and compositions by Mozart and Rossini.
