The annual European Youth Games for Disabled “Emil Open” take place this year in Brno. The games officially began yesterday at Náměstí Svobody. The games will continue throughout the weekend, happening at various places in Brno city.

Everyone is welcome to come to the event and support the young athletes, as sport is a concept that binds people together through passion and sheer joy of physical activity. These games aim to help disabled youth overcome their barriers and fears, gain confidence and communicate with others. Emil Open gives the public an insight in the filed of adaptive sports, and challenges amateur disabled athletes to compete with others and oneself.

The admissions into competitions have long been closed, however, you still have a chance to compete with international athletes in the accompanying program; challenge yourself in the cycling race or table tennis. There is also a rich entertainment program for both kids and their parents. The event program features concert of The Tap Tap band, a performance of the actors of the Theatre of Brno, or a group visit to the ZOO.
