In Brief: Czech Ministry Of Finance Increases Funding For Research and Development In Budget

Czech Rep., Sep 3 (BD) – The Finance Ministry has accepted the spending plans issued by the Council for Research, Development and Innovation for 2022. In May, the Council requested funding of CZK 39.3 billion to go towards Czech research and development in 2022, and this has now been incorporated into the budget by the Finance Ministry, following negotiations with Prime Minister Andrej Babis. The initial proposal of the Ministry of Finance, included in the government’s draft budget in June, was around CZK 3.2 billion lower. 

The Council for Research, Development and Innovation welcomed the news, adding that, “the field of science and research is one of the priorities of the government.”
