Brno, Jun 26 (BD) – On Thursday, June 25th, the new recreational terraces on the modified banks of the River Svratka were officially opened, with the participation of First Deputy Mayor Petr Hladik.
The terraces are part of the Svratka River revitalization project – a project that has been ongoing for over ten years, with the aim of improving flood protection as well as increasing the recreational facilities in the area, allowing Brno residents to enjoy nature close to urban areas. The recreational terraces are a short walk from the Kridlovicka tram stop, near the intersection of Herspicka and Opustena.
The new terrace on the right bank of the river includes new stairs for easier access to the waterfront, leading down to a pier for easier access to the water, as well as a relaxation area, a new solar waste bin, and a seating area next to the water.
The ceremonial opening was attended by First Deputy Mayor Hladik, as well as the terraces’ architect, a live music group, and representatives from the City of Brno Public Greenery organization.
