Czech Rep., Jun 22 (BD) – Jaroslav Faltýnek, a key figure in the ruling ANO movement of Prime Minister Andrej Babis, was admitted to hospital this morning after complaining of abdominal pains.

“It’s nothing dramatic. I felt sick yesterday, and now I’m going for a colonoscopy and endoscopy,” Faltýnek told Czech news server Seznam Zpravy. He added that he had been feeling unwell recently, which he linked to previous health problems. In January 2017, Faltynek spent some time in hospital due to a ruptured gastric ulcer.

Faltynek said that he hoped to be able to attend an extraordinary meeting of the Czech Chamber of Deputies scheduled for tomorrow, where MPs will decide whether to increase the state budget deficit.
