Brno, Feb 17 (BD) [UPDATE: 10:19 AM] – This morning two trams collided in Křížová Street in Brno. One tram hit the back of the other at the traffic lights, according to an eye-witness. The police, firemen and ambulance were immediately at the site.
In the accident, five people were injured, of which three ended up being taken to the hospital. The driver sustained moderate injuries, according to the initial reports of South Moravian Fire Department at 9 AM.
At 9:51 AM, the Police of the Czech Republic announced on their Twitter account that the number of injured people had increased to 10. The number was later changed to 7 (10:19).
There were 200 passengers in the trams.
The operation of the tram line on the site of the accident has already been restored, according to the latest update of the Czech Police.
