Every year the exhibition maps the events of the past year through the work of the best photographers, and presents them to the public.

The international jury of the 25th Czech photo printing competition chose from the work of 270 photographers, who submitted almost 4,000 photographs.

The Czech Press Photo Exhibition has a tradition going back over twenty years. The categories of the competition are Photograph of the Year, Recent, Problems of Today, Daily Life, Art and Culture, Sport, Portrait, Nature, Science and the Environment, and Lifestyle.

Anyone who has permanent residence in the Czech Republic or Slovakia and meets the other conditions of participation can compete.

“The Czech Press Photo Competition has a long and strong tradition in the Czech Republic. Its prestige continues to increase, as does the quality of the presented works. I am therefore very pleased that Brno, which is a city of modern and constantly developing culture, has always been involved in its realization and has always attracted many artists. Among them are photographers, some of whom have achieved success in this prestigious competition in recent years. That is also why I believe that the exhibition will attract a lot of visitors here,” said Marek Fišer, Council Member for Culture.
