Brno, Dec 5 (BD) – The four-storey building has been built to the latest environment standards, and has been given “passive house certification”, indicating the highest standards of energy-efficiency and sustainable construction. The building contains nine starter apartments, a mix of 1+kk and 2+kk flats, which will be limited to families and couples under 35 and within a combined monthly income range of CZK 25,508 – 54,205 who are trying to buy their first home. The starter rental agreements will last for two years with low rent, allowing them to save money to buy their own property. Information about the application process will be published on the housing department’s website

The building will also house a new branch of Czech Post on the ground floor, replacing the previous one nearby that is no longer fit for purpose. The post office will serve Husovice, Malomerice, and Obransky, and will also function as a parcel collection facility, instead of going all the way to the train station.
