The Brno City Transport Company (DPMB) intends to purchase new uniforms for drivers and other employees. A group of 20 drivers is currently trialling two new collections in a modern style and high-quality material. The company will spend approximately CZK 24 million on replacement uniforms for its 1,800 employees in the first year. Photo: DPMB / Facebook.
Brno, Aug 7 (BD) – “Drivers are our key employees. It is important for us to feel good at work. The existing uniforms are out-of-date in both design and material, so we decided to change them completely,” explained Miloš Havránek, the CEO of DPMB.
“A uniform for one driver is a complete set of clothing that includes jacket, sweater, trousers, shirt, waistcoat and t-shirt, often in both warm and cold weather versions. There is also a scarf and cap,” said Marcela Schwendtová, head of the Purchase and Logistics Department.
In addition to 1,400 drivers, new uniforms will also be worn by ticket vendors, dispatchers and other employees. In total, the tailors will have to sew 1,800 complete uniforms for DPMB. The uniforms should become the new DPMB standard next spring.
