Brno, Apr 2 (BD) – A Brno native, Kundera was born on April 1, 1929. With Monday, April 1, marking his 90th birthday, the Moravian Library commemorates his work through this exhibition, called “Milan Kundera, (Not Lost) in Translation”. The exhibition began this week, and will end on May 17.
Having more than 3000 translated editions in different languages, Kundera is considered one of the most translated authors. Though the exhibition will display some of the translated pieces, the exhibition will also be presenting reviews on Kundera’s works from various, international media outlets.
Visitors will be able to browse through all the first releases of the translated books, and the complete series of Czech editions – which have been published in a Brno publishing house called “Atlantis”, since the 1990s.
