Brno City Council has approved the selection of a contractor to build a new wellness facility at Lužánky Swimming Pool. Visualisations: MMB.

Brno, Oct 30 (BD) – A new wellness area will be added to the existing swimming stadium.

“Visitors will be able to use two steam cabins, a bio sauna, a Finnish sauna, […], and a jacuzzi. A cold pool with a relaxation room will be located on the western terrace,” said First Deputy Mayor Petr Hladík in a press release.

The company SYNER won the tender, with the lowest bid price of CZK 25.7 million, excluding VAT.

Lužánky stadium will eventually be transformed into a water park. As previously announced, construction could start as early as next year. Brno councillors agreed on the plans in July 2017. The new water park will be built next to the current indoor swimming pool near Lužánky park.

The new water park, with a capacity of over 2,000 people, is due to open by 2022, with an expected cost of almost half a billion Czech crowns.
