Brno, Sep 23 (BD) – With plenty of artistic and historic attractions but without the big crowds of Prague, Brno is a delight to visit. Besides that, the city’s proximity to other touristic cities like Vienna and Bratislava also offers visitors the chance to take day trips to neighbouring beautiful destinations. Shelley Rubenstein’s article “Brno Guide: Where to eat, drink, shop and stay in the Czech Republic’s Second City” in The Independent provides visitors with a guide to enjoying Brno in the best way possible.

The city’s renowned educational institutions such as Masaryk University attract many bright young minds to the city. According to Rubenstein, Brno has a history of hosting young talent. Among other examples, the article mentions 11-year-old Mozart performing at Reduta, the oldest theatre in Central Europe, in 1769.

The vibrant and cultured student city has many sights to visit and enjoy, including the 13th-century Spilberk Castle, which overlooks other must-see sights such as the Astronomical Clock, St. James’ Church, Moravian Square, and many more.

Brno has a growing reputation as one of the most attractive destinations to visit in Europe. Even though the city has friendly but tough competition from Prague, it is obvious that the Moravian capital is thriving and attracting more and more attention from tourists every year.
