Brno, Aug 23 (BD) – The architects from NEXT Institute and KOGAA Studio developed the “City Cell Prototype” (CCP). The prototype focuses on rainwater harvesting and helps to manage heat stress and water loss in the city centre. The CCP has a built-in irrigation system. It contains a biofilter that uses microorganisms to reduce water and air pollution.

The first CCP in Brno was opened yesterday in Malinovského náměstí. If the prototype works, the city will install others in náměstí Svobody, Zelný trh, and Dominikánské náměstí next year, Kateřina Gardoňová from the City Press Office reported in the official press release on Wednesday.
