The reason for this is an event named Meetingfest 2018, which is a part of the Meeting Brno Festival. The programme of Meetingfest 2018 includes cooking workshops and musical performances, both of which are open to the public for free.

The Meeting Brno Festival was created in 2016 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Czech-German Declaration, which aimed at improving relations between the two countries. The festival has grown to become a meeting place for people of different views, cultures and religions.

“The programme of the festival consists of readings, theatre and music, visual arts, performances in public spaces and discussion forums with inspiring people,“ the organisers write.

This year’s topic focuses on the growing populism and radicalism in European countries.

You can find more information about the Meeting Brno Festival on their official website, and more about the event at náměstí Svobody on Facebook.
