The first ever Serial Killer has been organised with both fans of online and TV series and those looking to break into the industry in mind. Festival graphic: Martin T. Pecina

Brno, Apr 23 (BD) – Next week from May 2 to 5, screen projectors will light up the city centre of Brno for the first ever Serial Killer festival, a major international festival of TV and online series. This is the festival’s first edition and it dreams big – to become the largest of its kind in Central and Eastern Europe, as explained by festival organiser Kamila Zlatušková in an interview with Brno Daily.

The festival will take place at several venues throughout the city centre area, including Scala Cinema and Bolek Polívka Theatre. (Check the Serial Killer website for more information.)

All of the screenings will be English speaker-friendly.

The screenings are divided into several categories: there will be a competition programme with series from Central and Eastern Europe; a non-competition programme of select series; the festival partner’s Danish programme; and ‘Bingewatch’.

The main (competition) programme features new series (2017-2018) from the Czech Republic, Romania, Russia, Estonia, Poland and Croatia, while the non-competition programme offers works from Germany, Denmark, Belgium, Spain, Norway and the USA.

Serial Killer founder Kamila Zlatušková is a Brno native and former creative producer at Czech Television.

In addition to the screenings (complete programme below), there will also be other forms of entertainment, including events for professionals in the TV and online production industry, stand-up comedy and social events.

For more information about the festival, follow Serial Killer on Facebook or check out their website, where you can get ‘accreditation’ for preferential seating. There is also still time to support the festival, in return for accreditation or merchandise, on the festival’s Hithit website.
