Czech children also often attend the clubs for dramatic arts.
Abroad, most children attend sports clubs.
In the Czech Republic, it is quite usual for children to attend clubs with various focus after school. In various days of the week, these may be sports, artistic, musical or theatrical activities.
The clubs are offered by the schools themselves, children and youth centers and roughly three-quarters of kindergartens.
There are also elementary artistic schools teaching music and other arts, the survey found.
At schools and in kindergartens, there are mostly the clubs for English, sport, flute playing or dance. At schools, they must be mostly paid.
Experts say the clubs play a vital role when forming the child’s personality, preventing bullying.
