Czech Republic, Oct 2 (CTK) – Czech children take part in various children’s clubs more often than those from other countries, according to a survey conducted by the Ipsos agency, commissioned by the firm Profi Credit among Czechs, Slovaks, Bulgarians and Poles and released on Saturday.

Two-thirds of Czech parents send their offspring to children’s clubs, while in Slovakia, it is only one-half of them.

Most Czechs consider out-of-school activities in children’s clubs a major part of their education and upbringing.

Sports and artistic clubs are among the most popular ones in the Czech Republic. Roughly one-half of Czech parents send their offspring to practice some sport.

Out of artistic activities playing a musical instrument or attending a ceramic club are the most popular ones.

Czech children also often attend the clubs for dramatic arts.

Abroad, most children attend sports clubs.

In the Czech Republic, it is quite usual for children to attend clubs with various focus after school. In various days of the week, these may be sports, artistic, musical or theatrical activities.

The clubs are offered by the schools themselves, children and youth centers and roughly three-quarters of kindergartens.

There are also elementary artistic schools teaching music and other arts, the survey found.

At schools and in kindergartens, there are mostly the clubs for English, sport, flute playing or dance. At schools, they must be mostly paid.

Experts say the clubs play a vital role when forming the child’s personality, preventing bullying.
